Hi plant friends! Today we’re back at Vandermeer Nursery. I happened to be nearby and saw they had a Hoya drop, so of course, I had to check it out. I didn’t make it in time for some of the more elusive varieties, they flew off the shelves quickly, but even so, the selection is still incredible.
The hanging baskets are lush, full of tendrils, and beautifully trailing. These plants are well-established, meaning no fuss with acclimating. Just take them home and enjoy. Some are so mature, you might even spot a peduncle or two.
Vandermeer has an ever-changing Hoya inventory, and with nearly 50 varieties in rotation, every visit is a bit of a treasure hunt. Some of the staples you might spot include Hoya carnosa, pubicalyx, kerrii, obovata, linearis, lacunosa, australis, multiflora, macrophylla, retusa, curtisii, bella, ruthie, fitchii, australis ‘Lisa’, serpens, wayetii, compacta, polyneura, and callistophylla.
Whether you live nearby or are visiting Southern Ontario, Vandermeer is definitely a must-visit destination for plant lovers, especially if you’re into Hoyas.
